Here is an image I took a little while ago.
The Snake Nebula. Perhaps not the most mesmerising object but the densely packed central stars are a marvel by their sheer quantity.

Nice one Greg, nice and bright, I've always liked this field, the scattered dark clouds over the mass of stars is pretty cool ...yeah, a few stars in there I guess, huh?...:eyepop:

At full resolution this is an interesting image to scan around. Tiny stars across the field. Looks great.

Thanks Mike. Even though its a simple image it can be a bit tricky getting those background stars to the right colour so I was happy with that.
The sheer quantity of stars is amazing to me.
Thanks Paul. I dialled in the tilt with the camera and the Honders recently and when its spot on the star fields are lovely. This is also after I have serviced my Proline 16803.
Thanks Troy. It was taken at my home observatory so I am happy with that.
Cheers Andy. Not impactful colour but the area has its appeal. For some reason it seems very Australian.

That's great Greg.
I think you've absolutely nailed the colours - very smooth and natural looking.

Thanks Rodney.
I am glad that you liked it.
Once the Milky Way gets too low there aren't a lot of imaging targets after it for a while. Its a bit of a dead part of the sky, so I need to get some more areas imaged before they are gone for the year.

Thanks Tim. There are several of these dusty squiggles in this area of the night sky so a few to choose from.
