View Full Version here: : A much shorter Helix

I’ve been amazed at the length and consequent detail of the Helix’s put up here so I apologize that this is only 10 hours and somewhat noisy. I’ve tried to pull out some detail and keep the O3 represented and added some RGB stars. All a bit of a compromise with limited data I guess. Appreciate any and all advice/comments.

No need to apologise Ben, is still a very fine Helix.

Yes it is a very good Helix. BTW maybe you should try MureDenoise on your RGB masters to get rid of the noise, its absolutely fantastic....

Love the colours Ben. Your image persuaded me that I definitely need to add SII to mine

"only 10hrs" yeeeeesss, a Helix image is not a real Helix image these days unless it has been captured with an exposure time measured in days! :eyepop:
Seriously though, looks pretty good anyway

Hey, fingers crossed I have not lost my Helix data with my PC dying yesterday, as two more nights and it would have been one week worth of quad-channel narrowband Helix data.
Ben's Helix colours are just lovely and I will aim for something similiar, if the hard drive turnes out to be okay.

...THIS (https://www.rolfolsenastrophotography.com/Astrophotography/Centaurus-A-Extreme-Deep-Field/i-hFknr4n/O) was almost 6 days :D
I agree, a nice colour palette Ben

Thanks for the nice comments folks. Hope the data is not lost Suavi! Goal is to see what I can gather before the Helix moves out of my backyard “window” between the mango trees. Feel like I have a good way of processing it now so should almost be plug and play with the extra data (plus some MureDenoise of the RGB).

Nice one Ben, great colours as the others have already said! 10hrs is about my norm so I can't fault you for that.

Cheers Lee. I love seeing what you get with a similar setup :-)

Added some more Ha data (now 94x300s Ha subs in all).

Also added a more typical colour palette version, although very 'etched'
