For a SkyWatcher goto scope, used in education or outreach, this would be so brilliant.
It doesn't replace the main SynScan handset, it's used for easy, point and go to, after using the main handset when getting alignment. And you still need to use the main handset anyway to get accurate centre on a target.
Still, being able to quickly have a scope turn to an area of sky for viewing, that you're literally pointing to, would be a useful asset.

It says it’s only “approximate” which suggests it uses accelerometers and a gyro like those in mobile phones - not particularly accurate, indeed.
I’d still be using the handset to select the object in order to put the scope in it accurately so it doesn’t really solve much imho.

See I am thinking on the other side of the page
"I’d still be using the handset to select the object in order to put the scope in it accurately"
100%
BUT remembering there are many people who can not, for any number of reasons, these gadgets all help with the enjoyment of their lives
