Its been a while since I've posted... so I thought it was about time. M27 The Dumbbell Nebula showing its outer shell. Imaged with the William Optics 132 and an FLI ML-8300 in Ha, O3 and RGB and cropped in nice and close. Exposure times were 6hours of Ha, 6hours of O3 and 1 hour each In RGB total of 15hours. Imaged from the Roboscopes site based at E-Eye in Spain.
Thanks for looking

My first impression was the look of the stars, they look worked on/shrunk? Otherwise, a wonderful and colourful result there Peter, very extensive outer shell structure, nice job

I agree about the stars--all the brighter ones have coloured halos. Nice detail in the nebula. As Mark said, it's a pity that it is so low in the north.

Thank you for your comments....I should have known better to try and sneak this one past you guys, You dont miss a thing...Of course you are both correct. I have given it a slight star reduction to help with the bloated stars and probably over saturated too. 132mm is a relative small aperture this combined with small pixels and an extreme crop. I might have got away with a longer FL and bigger aperture. or perhaps left the stars alone.
Ive included the full frame ...I have a big Dall-Kirkham that Im planning on pointing in this direction in the future better suited.

Brilliant image Peter, and I must admit I like the reduced stars as it makes the Nebula stand out a lot more.
To protect stars and stop them bloating etc I use StarNet++ to remove all the stars, work on the nebula, then add the stars back in, I do this in PixInsight....not sure what package you use.

Thank you Paul...I think one to work on ...I will get some larger scopes pointing at it and see if I can get more detail and tighter stars.Wont be until next time around though. ;)
