I've been successfully running EQMod on the NEQ6 for many years with no issues...
Last weekend I experienced a RA slew runaway!! I was in the remote office doing a plate solve and didn't realise.... The mount ended up counterweights up and the telescope rammed into the mount!!! Motors clicking like the devil...

After checking everything I managed to get everything back to "normal".
The following night I subsequently had a good session (>80min) guiding etc as usual.
Everything seemed OK.

BUT last night observing almost directly overhead (V3980) the mount went into RA slew mode - I was there and could press the emergency stop.
This happened four times during a 30 min period.
No action on my part - the mount just went into RA slew!!!!
I'll check and inspect everything later, but I'm concerned that there may be some damage to the motors/ motherboard which is causing this random slew.
Has anyone else had similar issues?????

Did you notice a “com error” on the EQMOD pad during the failure
Martin

NB I’ve only had one glitch on EQMOD earlier this year when I set my new EQ6-R and it decided to stop tracking up near the zenith and slew back to Home Position. So I shut down everything , rebooted windows , reconnected EQMOD and touch wood no issues to date on both mounts

Martin,
No, no comms error.
I had to use the emergency stop, and then unparked etc.
(I'm looking for the EQMod log files...any ideas where they are??)

I’ve checked through the EQASCOM manual and all I can find is info on runtime errors
Don’t know if this helps your situation ?

These are caused by file access error in the configurations
Files can be locked or corrupted if your Laptop or PC crashes or does a reset
Use the Toolbox application that installs your EQASCOM to delete your current files. New files will then be created with defaults assigned when EQASCOM runs again
ini files are stored in directory
Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\EQMOD
Username is your windows login user name. The Application data has hidden attributes so set your explorer options to show hidden files
You can also just enter %appdata%\eqmod
There several ini files
Align.ini
EQMOD.ini
EQMOSAIC.ini
EQTOUR.ini
JOYSTICK.ini

Maybe send an email or post on the EQMOD group your issue
Sorry about your issue

Martin,
Thanks. Yes, I've been through those files and checked all the USB connections, re-booted etc etc........
I can't find any Message Centre log files - would be interesting to see what was recorded at the time of runaway....rogue Joypad issuing slew command??
Don't know.
I've posted on the EQMod group.
