In a press release by NASA today, it is reported that the James Webb
Telescope has been assembled for the first time.

If I were in control I think I would try for a dry run when in Earth's orbit as well ... The thought of it being way out there where it is going to go and something going wrong is a worry.
I have followed the progress off and on for a long time now but the prospect of some problem similar to Hubble's intial difficulties worries me.
I had a link where you could view inside the construction area...mmm I wonder if that is still available.

How exciting. Not long to go now. They're making sure they get it right. There's no way to go and service that thing if it doesn't deploy correctly.

Yep fingers crossed everything goes to plan. 2021 is going to be a great year. Bye bye Hubble and hello JWST!
