Hi Guys,
NGC 6872 and NGC 7098 (Ring Galaxy), taken with a C9.25" Edge and an ASI071 Pro. The Ring Galaxy needs a bit more data to drag it further out of the noise. The new LED lighting in Melbourne is certainly not helping much, but with a bit of digging, you can still capture Galaxies.
They do look better in their uncompressed Tiff format

You’ve certainly managed to drag out some detail from the galaxies there Peter. Whilst a little more data is always good, has come out quite well.

Thanks for your comments Rodney, very much appreciated. While I Photograph Nebulae and occasional Global Cluster, Galaxies are my favorite, in fact my collection is a little top heavy with them.
Although photographing them can be quite challenging at times, especially in the South Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne.

Love the ring galaxy image. What an unusual shape for a galaxy.
Greg.

Hi Greg, thanks for your comment. Yes it is a very unusual shape for a Galaxy and it is one of my favorites.
The one thing about Galaxies is that they come in all shapes and sizes. Probably why I never tire of photographing them.:D

Hi Chris, thanks for your comments. Unfortunately I lost about 1.5 Hours of data on the Ring Galaxy, so the shot is still a little noisy. Next time I get a chance I will collect some more data and hopefully that should clean up some of the noise.
Cheers

Nice work, Peter... you don't see those every day! Love NGC 6872, that's awesome.

Hi Lee, thanks for your comments. The Ring Galaxy is a fairly rare bird, but there is another one coming up in October, NGC 1291. If I manage to get it, I will post it up here just for comparison.
Cheers

Hi Graham, thanks for your comments. Galaxies are what I tend concentrate most of my efforts on, they are the real pillars of our universe.
Cheers
