Hi to all

I live on the Central coast (Killarney Vale) and am having trouble finding a good viewing location. I tried Katandra but the tree canopy is to thick, there doesn't appear to be any "public" land at Yarramolong.

Have any of the locals got any secret spots that are local enough to avoid long distance travel and dark enough to avoid the Gosford and Entrance Skyglow.

Unfortunately my backyard is quite small and the neighbours are quite inconsiderate with their backyard spotlights.

Maybe we should approach the local councils for a small grant of land that could be fenced to exclude local lighting and labled as an Astro park.

I loved the sky at lostock but its far to far to travel everynight.

Oh Dear, what is one to do????

Arthur do you know about our meetings at Kulnura (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=17022) each month?
Map here. (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=14925)

Just check the Observing Sessions forum (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=16) each new moon w/e to see if/when it's on.

yeh that's good for new moons, but I guess Arthur is talking about *other* nights (we shouldn't use the paintball place at other times).

Rod once went to the water tower at somersby - i'm not exactly sure where that is. I'm sure Rod will chime in.

Another place is the soccer field at Mangrove Mountain, though you can't drive onto the field at there may be sports played there at night.
