Last night was the first night I really had the opportunity to spend some time with my new Zambuto mirror.
Wow, is all I can say. I am looking forward to enjoying years of spectacular views through this set up.
Now 15 inches and f4 with a built in SIPs system lets me stand flat footed (or seated) and take the sky in.
My previous mirror was a good mirror but this Zambuto mirror is something special. Very happy boy!

Oh lucky you, they are good, though I guess you’re using a coma corrector.
Though I’d have opted for something longer.

I did have the Feathertouch/Televue SIPs system installed.
This is my retirement scope (a few years early)...
I must travel to dark skies and with both Sons off at university this year, I must be able to manhandle things myself. While bigger would be nice, I was not convinced long term I could manage it.
It is enough for me.

Hi Scott & All,
Yep, Carl Zambuto has a excellent reputation that is, given the reviews I have read from many experienced visual observers, well deserved.
The comment you made touching on portability etc is an important one. I know the 'scope I acquired about this time last year, I never would have bought if it had to be transported somewhere to observe -- just way, way too much trouble. This leads me to the age-old axiom "The best 'scope for you is the one you will use the most".
Enjoy!

Having observed with a 24" Zambuto in the last 8 months or so I can attest that the mirror is at a completely different level to most mirrors. Pin sharp stars and resolution of nebula like M42 is spectacular. One of the best mirrors I have observed with ever. So I am sure you have a great mirror, Carl produces very sharp optics.
Congratulations on the Zambuto mirror and scope Scott. Sounds like you are having alot of fun and really happy with the scope. :)
I have a sdm scope on order with a Zambuto 24" f/4 mirror being made by Carl. I can't wait to get a chance to view and your post is a great testament.
Thanks again for sharing your experience.
Paul: I have spoken with the owner of thr 24" f/4 and it is going to be an amazing view and ride after speaking to him of his experiences.
