Acrilic painting

Well it is perhaps only a step up from finger painting, if that, but the few paintings I have done I find very satisfying. The paint goes more or less where it wants but you can add your personal effects to produce what could be call an abstract painting.
Here are my second two that I did while Deep Sky Stacker was grinding away.
The first I call "Angry Ocean" and the s cond "Flowers in the Moonlight".
And sorry they are not for sale but I would consider a swap for a RASA eight and a full set of filters...but you would have to say please and give good reasons why I should make such a swap.

Does anyone else here do any paintings? Please show your work if you care to do so..

Sorry they are the wrong way around...the second is upside down and clearly you can work out which way the first one should sit..it's obvious.

I always preferred oils to acrylics, that said the faster drying time makes acrylics very convenient.........then I found how to use pencils in a manner that worked for me.

That's neat Chris.
I used to do oils. As I said this acrilic pour thing is not far past finger painting...take a look on youtube if you are mildly interested as there are some appealing works out there. I just love all the little swirls. I am experimenting to get it to a point past the pour and see what comes out..that is why I am extremely happy with "Flowers in the Moonlight" as I was able to give a hint of a subject matter but still leave it "abstract" and hopefully I can refine my approach further.
The key feature with these pours is they add, usually, silicon to the paint ( silicon oil presumably) and you get very interesting "cells" as they call them. The first one above I used engine oil but perhaps not enough or maybe it must be silicon..the second I added detergent but neither showed dramatic effect..which suits me for where I am going with this.

When I was working in Hong Kong, I took up pen-and-ink drawing with old local buildings, temples etc as my general subjects. I found the ink used by the Chinese for their fabulous ink and wash work was ideal. Here's a couple of quickies from in and around HK Central. The "chop" on these identifies me a Lei Kwok Wei which was the name I was given so the local press could identify me. Big deal!

I had hoped to draw more folk in to display their work..maybe some astronomy sketches.
I can't think of anyone in particular but you would think someone here maybe living in Sydney South East may have a drawing or two.

Yes Alex, that’s what he does - just astronomy. The moon, DSOs etc. You’ve probably seen him on here.
