Finally got a just enough RGB to go with that nice Ha data I got recently. Nebulae aren't my strong point, especially HaRGB but I think this one came out ok.

Edit: New new version

Fantastic image Lee - you inspired me to try HaRGB with my next image

That is rather nice Lee. The detail in the core is excellent. Looks like the scope is well tuned now.

That's come out really well Lee with a lot of fine contrasty detail all the way down to the hourglass.

Thanks very much all, appreciate the feedback :-) I've made a new revision now using only Ha for the luminance, as that data was a bit better than the RGB data (though that was very good too). I think it's better... though I always tend to think that of reprocesses and then with time decide that I made it worse :p

Cheers Paul :-) Still got some more work to do on the scope; now I have some tilt that needs resolving... not sure what I'd do without a problem though, maybe I'd get bored.

An excellent M8 Lee, beautiful colour and a natural gaseous look, very nice, it looks real  The only thing I recon you might consider doing though, is selecting those vague blue halos around the brighter blue stars and just add some magenta/reduce the blue to blend them better with the gas.

Thanks Mike, that's good feedback. Those halos came up as a consequence of using only Ha for the luminance of the nebula. I'll have a shot at that... tricky part will be getting the mask.

As it is not a large number of stars needing attention, you could just manually lasso the more obvious halos and feather in PS then adjust the colour...?

I don't have PS, I only use PixInsight these days and masks are one thing I find a bit lacking. Nevertheless, I think I managed it. Two biggest stars still aren't great but the rest are a lot better.

Thanks very much guys :-)

A lovely Lagoon. Great detail and colour. A bit of chromatic aberration around those stars though. Lightroom chromatic aberration sliders work best for that. Also in Photoshop under camera raw filter.
