Hi, this is going to be an odd question for sure,
But i am actually trying to find some online stores that stock the SkyWatcher Black Diamond 180/2700 Mak-Cassegrain ( don't have any telescope stores here in Tassie that i am aware of )

This might be a long shot, but is there a list of stores on here by any chance?
The few stores i did manage to find,, tell me nothing will be in stock until next year as their October shipment does't have any in it,, which sounds a tad odd.

I have tried, Ozscopes, Bintel, Andrews communications, Astro anarchy.

Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Look more closely. Andrews definitely do have it, at $1899 for the OTA. So do Ozscopes and AstroAnarchy.

Looks like Bintel have given up and only carry the usual SCT's.

Use old-fangled tech - the telephone. The www is too slow.

Hi
Haven't checked all the stores you mention but Andrews Com say they ship within 2 / 3 business days, indicating that the Mak must be available, though their website could use some upgrading so may not be up to date.
Ozscopes say 3 /7 days availability for the Mak.

How often all the stores update their product lists and availability is a mystery, but we, as the consumer should have access to reasonably current information if they want us to buy their products. I know that there are some that update info frequently.

Thanks for the replies, Ozscopes definately replied back with no stock until next year due their order coming in on October doesn't have in it.
AstroAnarchy has theirs listed as pre order, so none in stock, still waiting on a reply from them though.

Sounds a tad odd, but will keep looking.
Appreciated.

Peter,
take Nick's advice and use the 'phone, Andrews would be a good place to start. Greg.

That merely means they (retailers) don’t have one in stock but they will get it from the Australia wholesalers warehouse.

Retailers do not necessarily carry stock of everything, especially the slower moving higher priced items.

The same OTA has been rebranded as a “Celestron 700” for sale in the US market where Skywatcher is virtually unknown. This suggests the current production output has been shanghaied for the US market, ie you will just have to wait till SW supplies recover.

An alternative is to find one secondhand here on IIS, or possibly put up a “wanted” and see what comes. These scopes do come up occasionally.
