Which part of the sky is this ?

I ripped this image from the internet, I don't tell where.

Can one determine
* which part of the sky this is
* which (approximate) geolocation it is taken ?

Assuming it is recent, could be somewhere around Jupiter or Venus (brightest object on image)?
After determiing this detail, the location (latitude-wise) will be easier....
I am trying platesolver (astrobin) now...

I think it is not from SP, the horizon on photo is not parallel to celestial equator (see screen shot from CdC, settings for Melbourne).
