Very nice shot James and well worth posting. The fact that Nightscapes are basically landscape photographs taken at night, it would have been better suited to the Deep Space section of the forum. As your shot does not include any terrestrial objects, it would be regarded as Widefield rather than Nightscape.

Must have been a nice dark sky to produce that in under 7 mins exposure at 400iso, the Sony sensor is obviously up to the task.

Thanks Michael!

This image was taken near Callington which is about an hour out of Adelaide and has reasonably dark skies (light blue on the darksite finder map and Class 3 Bortle according to Clear Outside). I think the Sigma lens is doing the heavy lifting here with its large aperture.

James that is a wonderful capture.
Well done.
Widefields are great. I really like them.

Nice image there. It shows the majestic nature of the Milky Way in our skies.
