What magazine to buy - GEAR

I have ZERO interest in magazines reading about Astronomy, however I do like to read gear reviews and scope product specs etc.

Does anyone have advice on a good magazine to get please.

It annoys me that magazines come in plastic wrappers these days (many of them) trying to stop you opening them to look in before buying.

I will never get a magazine or anything until I look at it inside at the price they are now,

I question the usefulness of reports in magazines.
From my experience (an association with a moto cross magazine I helped found and supported as it was my best mates baby) is one is under a great deal of pressure to say nice things and so often one must borrow the item upon which the report is being made. Fortunately my mate was not corruptible and earned a rep that if a dirt bike was not covered in the mag there is as probably somethung wrong with it..after a very short while we could get our hands on anything he wanted to trial.
So you want to test an expensive refractor and the supplier will be called upon again in the future how do you say anything even slightly critical.
Once here folk would produce excellent unbiased reports but not so much these days.
Perhaps if you are interested in a particular thing look to see if there is a face book site and join it as there folk are very likely to air complaints as well as favourable coments.
Now maybe someone will now comment offering reasons why a particular magazine ics useful☺.
