View Full Version here: : what is the cross-hatching I see in my stacked images

Hi,

I recently took some subs of the Cent A galaxy (50x60sec) and stacked them with 50 darks and 50 bias frames in DSS. I then loaded the image into my post-processing software (StarTools) and saw this horrible cross-hatching/waffle pattern on my image. It's like I shot it through lattice.

So just wondering is this normal, am I doing something horribly wrong or is my camera faulty?

I shot with a non-cooled, ASI290MC. No filters or anything else in the way.

Apologies, I'm at work so don't have an image to show.

Cheers in advance

Rene

Have you set the correct debayering in the fits/Raw settings? They should be rggb

post a pic, could also be internal reflection of imaging sensor.

The debayering setting is in DSS.

Edit, the thread you posted about not seeing colour has the answer too (Same answer for both) but Nik has posted in there which setting menu you need to look for.

Do I debayer my darks, flats, bias etc or just the lights?

Debayer everything.

DSS will sort it all out just make sure the raw images you capture are 16 bit and the fits settings are rggb
