hit and miss with these - i will post the nikon p1000 shots first, then the canon 80d with 600mm sigma lens. the sky was indeed boiling:sadeyes:

Glad someone was brave enough to get out there this morning, looks like it was a pretty sight. Thanks for sharing.
I woke up before dawn with intentions of capturing some images but heard the wind whistling in anger outside the window, so happily rolled over and went back to sleep.
Well captured despite the turbulent air! Plus the epic Canon-Nikon battle continues :P

Excellent series Dave, the low altitude of the Moon really adds drama to these with the turbulence and atmospherics.:)

Still got some good shots there Dave!
Nice to see that you had two systems going mate.
Atmospheric turbulence was against you as the moon was setting lower but you managed to get a nice record of the event.
Here it was dead still, no wind, but of course I didn't have a clear view of the western horizon so I had to improvise.
You should try flying and doing two things at once.... :P
