So while I was taking photos of m20 the other night I stuck a dslr (canon 80d) onto the top of my scope and took some wide field frames of whatever it happened to be pointing at.

This is my first wide field attempt. A lot could be better but I’m surprised at how much of the dust showed up.

This is 33 frames at 3 minutes 20 seconds per frame. The lense was a tamron 16-300mm at about 16. F3.5 iso 100.

I’ve just stacked them and given a quick auto stretch and a crop. No calibration frames (can you use calibration frames with a dslr?)

Pretty good effort..I reckon you could up the I so...I like25600:P
No but maybe 400 or 800 ... try some dark as well.
Never the less keep trying for wide fields if you can piggy back...and extend the fl to see what you can do...I do find short subs and heaps of them works well also.
Great capture.

Wow Gav, you'd be happy with that for a first go at widefield.
Nicely framed & all. Well done .
Cheers,
