Hi all,

I have been busy setting up a new site for Australian Amateur Astronomers.

There are lots of sites on the net with information about whats happening in oz, but I thought I would try to collect as much information in one site as possible. It is not in competition with any other sites, rather to compliment them.

Myself, I get annoyed having to surf from site to site to get information about what's in the sky this month, who sells what, what Astro events are on etc.

I am attempting to bring all those general items into the one place to make it easy. Anything I can't place in the site will have a direct link to it so you don't have to go looking for it.

It is still only in it's early stages so it isn't quite chocka-block full of info yet, but there is enough in there for you to get an idea of what it is all about.

Feel free to email me any suggestions, links, astropics, reviews, product bargains, Astronomy Camps, Star parties etc etc.

It is for the benefit of all of us. I hope it simplifies this hobby for Newbies too.

Take a look, I hope you understand what I am attempting to do.

Thanks Pete.

I just hope people actually have a use for it. It's got a lot more info to go into it yet.

Thanks for the encouragement.

There is still a LOT of work to do on the site yet, but it will be a benefit to all of us.

I am already getting lots of emails and the site was only launched last night!!! :eyepop:

Feel free to offer suggestions for the site that could help us all in our hobby. Jeanette has already come up with the suggestion of 'Astrophotography on a Budget'. Thanks Jeanette, I have included your idea on the 'Australian Astrophotography (http://australian-astronomy.bravehost.com/astropics.html)' page. :)

Thanks to the folks who left comments in the guestbook too

Mate, it's the only one you have ever sent through top me (skype).

Plus, I quite happen to like it. :)

Hi Ken, I think you've done a fantastic job so far and I already bookmarked the site into my favourites.
I'll submit a few images as well when I find the least embarassing ones

Cheers

Cheers Ric.

Any images will do. I can always have a section titled "What NOT to do in Astrophotography"

Thanks for bookmarking the site

I like the clean, easy to navigate style. Plus, the "Australian Sky this Month" section is awesome.

Well done mate.
