Coincidentally Suavi & I are both targeting the triffid in narrowband at present. :)
Just for fun it seems that we're having a Trifid - off, so here's a hasty opening shot across the bow, from last night with not nearly enough data!
The plan is to keep big Mike and others happy too, by creating some kind of NB/RGB hybrid from my light polluted suburban skies in Melbourne.
This is a B-HaR-O3B-G cocktail which shows some promise using a seperate Blue layer as LUM - never tried this before :help:
I've attached screenshots of the masters for interest, I'm amazed to have so much blue signal already.
Only 2hrs Ha, 2 hrs O3 & a mere 20mins ea of RGB so far. The plan is to add S2 & a LOT more data to smooth it out properly.
(Hmm - I also have an N2 filter?)
Like M42, this object seems to appear better in broadband, so it's a challenging technical exercise to try for a pseudo-natural result using the NB & broadband filters. :)
Come one, come all- anyone can play :)
Here is the work in progress (http://www.astrobin.com/full/413341/0/) - (don't pixel peep too closely, it's got a long way to go yet!)
