The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) have
released a performance test study of 43 modems used to supply
phone and internet services over FTTN/P technology types.

The study included testing the effects of "bridge taps".
This is typical of poor building installations where additional phone sockets
have not been correctly isolated or where multiple properties share the
same copper pairs. Bridge taps are a known source of FTTN/FTTC
NBN performance related issues.
