On Sunday night I shot three targets. Eta Carina, Lagoon and 47 Tuc. For the Lagoon I ended with a stack of 2.9 arcsec FWHM so when I say that 47 Tuc had deteriorated further (I noticed the minimum FWHM go up when I was manually focusing) I think I'm near going to turf that data.

Anyway, having recently been combining some QHY22 Ha with DSLR (both with a 675mm refractor) from dark skies I found it quite an interesting comparison for 2.1 hours of F/10 data from my heavily light polluted back yard. I'm quite liking the 0.4"/pixel scale at the moment (yes, the one night so far I've done it!)

I attempted to create some synthetic flats from the three data sets and that didn't do so well. There were some pretty major just motes (need to clear the UV/IR filter I think) so I've cropped it to square format and leaving it like that.

You've got the big cluster really sparkling.

The detail around the hourglass is excellent.

Perhaps the colour is a bit too blood-and-guts for us.

Thanks MnT :)
I tend to agree with you with regards to the colour. I don’t know if it’s coming from the unmodded DSLR background but I was expecting a bit more blue around the core. I tried using the PhotometricColorCalibration script but it left a green cast that I had to remove later.

Thanks Marc :)
I’ve enjoyed the closeup Ha you’ve done in the past.

I think I’ve improved the colour balance in this one.

Changed the original link.

Very nice colour. And I like the sextuplet diffraction spikes

Thanks Chris :)
It’s been taken with a Mewlon 250 though and not the refractor :)
