I have just done some old-fashioned solar projection using my Vixen 81mm. I generally like doing this on the cooler days of winter. However, there were no spots and I have not seen any for a while. I guess we are at a low point in the Solar Cycle. Hate to say it, but the Sun is boring at this time.

There is currently, a small spot AR2743 near the eastern limb, so the sun is not spotless. Just too small to be of any visual significance. There is also some prom activity for Ha scopes, again, not spectacular but always worth a look.
This minimum is predicted to last for another year or more before , maybe picking up in activity, though we may be in for an prolonged minimum according to some experts.

I see a good sized Sunspot well in from the edge today (24th July), when doing solar projection. Sorry, I don't do imaging, but it can be seen in the The Sun Now with the normal light image.

Bob,
Glad you managed to see it.
Clouded out down here (as usual!)
