I had some tracking issues with this and the sky was getting loaded with moisture - threw away half the subs but still got a pretty picture.

We've been getting frost by about 10pm the last two nights.

12x5 min. The modded camera seems to show more detail in addition to the extra red colour.

A very nice rendition. Processing looks very smooth.

Just noticed you are using the MGEN autoguider. I find it works well even with a little dew on the lens.

Tony you can give up your day job and do astrophotograohy full time..I really like your image as the detail is most impressive.
Well done.

Great image of M8 Tony with only an hour of data
I needed 3 hours of dithered guided 5 minutes subs with my DSLR to get even close in detail to this super image
Well done !!

Thanks Rowland. All of my images are lights only, no calibration frames, and minimal processing.

The MGEN is a beauty - super easy to use and seems to work well - perfect for a technophobe like me :)

Thanks Alex and Martin. I'm hoping to get M16 tonight.
The modded camera makes more difference than I thought it would.

That's remarkable...

I'm sure the images would be better with calibration frames and good processing, but I'm managing ok with my shortcuts.

I have recently become more interested in narrow band after seeing the superior contrast of Ha images; I'm not sure where that will lead yet (might have to upskill).

Top stuff Tony,
Very commendable Lagoon there. Have to say against the odds it turned out pretty good. I took the chance to get out last night (been out of the loop for 8 months) and by gosh was is dewy after 10pm your right! The scope was like it was dunked in water! Took a few happy snaps of the eagle, hope it turns out ok.
Keep up the good work, nice Ha coming through from your modded DSLR, look forward to your M16 shot.

Thanks guys. I got 3 frosty nights in a row of imaging, now back to cloudy nights but lots of stuff to process, including a Lobster for Alex and M16.
