Hi all,

Finally, after seemingly never ending wet season the skies cleared up so it's time to pick up precious space data again. Last night I was given an opportunity to finish collecting OIII for the Lagoon I started two months ago; only SII left to capture - hopefully tonight and tomorrow night if needed.

A quick stitching together of about 20 hours of Ha and OIII through my 105mm guidescope: https://www.astrobin.com/full/411135/0/?nc=user

Thank you for looking :hi:

Nice clean, clear and crisp image there Suavi

Do you normally collect OIII under significant Moon light?...guess the Lagoon is pretty bright.

Thank you and a good point Mike - SNR was about 3x weaker in OIII last night as opposed to the few subs I captured during a new moon over a month ago. But I really want to finish this image and any data is better than no data and, since my last year's full moon lobster got noticed by Greenwich judges I figured maybe full moon brings me luck

That's beautiful, Suavi. Classy work.

First thing I said when I went up to full resolution was, "Man that's clean". Detail is great, not over sharpened, no apparent noise in the background, nice tight stars and nicely processed. I am going to look forward to the version with the SII. I hope we see an RGB stars version also.

For bright objects like this I am sure some Moon is not too much of an issue for OIII data collection. If trying to image faint OIII though, like faint halos around PN's, it isn't a good idea :)

Very very nice, smooth and crisp, looking forward to the SII
I still reckon it looks like Homer if you rotate 90deg CW

That is just amazing. Didn't realise how good until I looked at it on my computer.

Woah! Beautiful - I pointed to it last night to take some snaps but clouds closed in so I shifted - glad I did - I wouldn't compete with that superb image. Well done!
