First image in a while due to cloud or fog. This is about 3 hours total of the clouds around Antares. I didn't find it easy to draw out the colours.

Nikon d5600 modified, mix of 5 and 7 min exposures, ISO 400, TS72.
Corner stars are a bit off as I'm not using the correct flattener.

This is a beautiful image. I think the composition is fantastic. There is whimsical dreamy quality. Imaging Luddite so cannot comment on the technicals:shrug:

Thanks for your comments guys. Despite the technical issues I'm happy with the image as it looks good at a glance.

It's my first image of this area and the nebulosity is much fainter than the usual nebulae, especially the colours.

I'm considering getting a shorter focal length scope to get a bit wider field.

Does a reducer give you a wide enough view. ? The 5.9 reducer on my 800 really widens the field of view.

I use the 3" 0.8 reducer from my TS115 on the 72, reducing it to f/4.8 and 340mm which is fairly wide, but I'd like to go wider and get more differentiation from the 115's FOV.

The image above is the full APSc chip with no cropping.

The Redcat 51 looks interesting but too expensive once you nudge over $1000 and add the import fees.

Thanks Chris, it's the most naturally colourful region that I can think of. A touch wider field would be nice, especially to capture the more intense reds above Sigma Scorpii.
