A plaque has been unveiled on the former grounds of Fort Monmouth,
in Wall Township, New Jersey at what was designated as Site Diana,
a radar dish installation that was first used to bounce a radar signal
off the moon.

The plaque was sponsored through the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

Also since that first pioneering effort time, radio amateurs have routinely
performed Earth-Moon-Earth radio communication by bouncing signals
off the Moon.
