I see yet another small mount on IIS classified for sale, without a counterweight.

Over the years I've bought a few counterweights to complete other mounts lacking one and not thought much of it until recently someone else was looking for one (luckily I had a spare that did the job).

So now I'm beginning to wonder - has this happened to you ?
Are noobs really so careless as to lose their counterweights ?

Is there a "counterweight heaven" full of missing counterweights, just waiting to be discovered next to the Bermuda Triangle ?
Or a scrap metal yard somewhere in southwest Sydney ?

I arrived North to find my daughter had found three counter weights at the old place and now I have the original seven which of course I need☺.
Its a beautiful day and I am hoping the set up works tonight with out problem...not being negative but I just feel it wont be that easy.
Its clear and not much wind at the moment.

They make up the rings of Saturn. We know now that the rings are a recent phenomena - in fact they postdate the invention of the GEM.

I too have a second hand HEQ5 with only one counterweight. Limits me to one scope at a time.

So if any have migrated to your house and you have a spare it will save me a trip to Bintel.

I don’t think they would make cheap barbells as they are more expensive per kg than any barbell.

It's like selling a car minus the wheels... which reminds me - in inner-city Sydney there was a time when, if parked in the street, you could return to find your car on bricks, minus all the wheels thanks to a roaring blackmarket for secondhand tyres.

It wouldn't surprise me if a few end up here http://stuffin.space/
