Hello,

Has anyone that owns a Esprit 80ED managed to successfully fit a reducer (Not a Flattener) to the Esprit 80ED, I've been told that there is no reducer available ? I want to Esprit 80 but I want to achieve the widest FOV possible. I'm aware that it comes complete with a field flattener that works very well, but that leaves me with 80mm X 400mm, Any feedback will be much appreciated :) If you have pictures or any info that would be handy as well

I’m aware of one vendor selling 80mm Esprit with TS 0.79 reducer so perhaps this reducer-scope combo yields acceptable results.

Ivan, I’ve been experimenting with the APM Riccardi reducer on my Esprit 100 and it seems to work OK. Haven’t quite nailed the spacing required for decent performance on a full frame, but looks good on a smaller chip.

I’d imagine it’d work with Esprit 80...although the Riccardi reducer is quite a chunk of glass and might not fit inside the Esprit 80 focuser tube. The 100 has a 3” focuser tube, fortunately.

I have the ed80 version not the triplet and managed to use my celestron f6.3 reducer on it with adapters

This one has been designed for Evostar ED doublet (600mm FL) not Esprit(400mm FL).
