Apollo 10 painted an imaginary runway on the moon for Neil and Buzz on 11 but almost lost the lunar module and their lives during transition to ascent in low lunar orbit where the lunar module was spinning wildly out of control for a minute and close to gimbal lock until they got it under control and completed the ascent and docking ( the result of an incorrect switch setting prior to ascent )
Apollo 10 was one of the most significant missions in the program and often overshadowed by Apollo 8 and Apollo 11

As a kid I use to collect all the newspaper clippings during the Apollo missions and I can vividly remember Apollo 10
