Like to share a couple of pics i took today of the Albury Train Station which was built back in the 1880's. Standing on the platform is quite amazing as it's the longest in N.S.W and the third longest in Australia and it just seems to have no end in site when looking along it.

Beautiful looking building Pete! Great pics.
Peter that's a great looking station, it seems that in those days they built them very similar, we have one in Ballarat that looks very much the same, also built in that era.

A beautiful old building, in those days the architects had an idea of proportion, everything looked just right, and in the correct place and with lots of attention to detail.
Thanks for sharing those Peter, they look great.
I love architecture from a by-gone era.
Phil I couldn't agree more.

Lovely images!
Just a suggestion for pics #2 and #3, if you used a higher/longer f-stop then you'd avoid overexposing the background sky. The exposure would need to be a bit longer but during the daytime it still should be ok for hand-holding.
Great architecture.

I had not noticed the background until you mentioned it Mike, i best get the book out and learn how to use the camera properly. The camera is a Nikon Coolpix 1, not mine but my sons, so i better find out how to do this and that with it as he bought it to take on his cruise in April and i have given up on telling him to read the instruction book so if i understand it a bit better i can give him a few tips before he leaves. Thanks for your tip, they all help in the long run.

I have memories of that station when, as a kid, my family caught the Southern Aurora from Sydney to Melbourne.
And to further the link, an Uncle of mine regularly drove the XPT train from Albury!

Thank for the nice pictutres.
I was 'shipped' from there 40years ago as a migrant on the midnight train to Sydney. This is the first time I see the station in daylight!
I have to go back there on day.
