Star Cluster and dark doodad, something I'm working on. I'd like to get more detail in the dusty areas around the dark nebula and I'm hoping a camera mod will help here.
About 2 hours worth of 5 minute subs, TS72, Nikon D5600.

Hi Tony,
Nice image. Really well framed
I was out last night attempting to get some data but it was one of those nights where every cloud prediction was completely wrong..... unless of course I was trying to take photos of a big white blanket. I hope you have more luck down your way.

Thanks Ryan.
It's been showery weather down here so not much opportunity to get out.
I'll have a modded camera shortly so it'll be interesting to see the difference.

The modded camera opens up a whole new world but it does come with its challenges. You’ll love it though. Only thing I can suggest ( you might already know ) is make sure you use a IR filter or the CLS / UHC filter is a CCD version with a wavelength cut at iR. Without it your stars will be really bloated.
Looking forward to seeing the product of your efforts when you get it.

Did the mod today Ryan and the camera still works:thumbsup:
I've got an IDAS LPS filter to use with the scope.
Here's a test shot, kinda reddish.
