Hi all,

Started collecting data for a second object this year - NGC 4945.

I am not accustomed to producing RGB images so it will be an interesting experience.

So far have only a few hours of Lum with my 4" refractor. Experimenting with not using any calibration files (no bias, no darks and no flats) and no noise reduction at all.

Thank you for looking

One gets a wonderful 3-dimensional feeling at looking at an almost side-on galaxy, tilted very slightly toward ten o'clock. Most images of 4945 make it look flat and two-dimensional. Perhaps the black and white rendition has helped here.

Superb!

I'm constantly amazed at what that refractor of yours can do. Unfortunately the bad weather is back for a while here in "sunny" QLD.

Nice one Sauvi. It looks like an image from a 10 inch Newt. That CFF 105mm is punching way above its weight here. Sweet!!

Greg.

Lookin' good, Suavi. I've never found this galaxy aesthetically pleasing... looks much better without colour IMO.

Nice one Suavi. Monochrome images can expand our appreciation of the objects that we target.
