Some more targets I've been slowly adding data to.

Tarantula now 5h.
Not enough signal to sharpen yet.

M8 only started 2h.
This one is starting to put up with a bit of deconvolution. (see 1:1 hourglass crop)

I'll update the thread as I get more time on these targets.

Very nice, Marc! Lagoon is looking particularly beautiful. Looks nice and sharp...

Maybe it's just my eyes after looking at my own wonky stars of late, but are the stars on M8 a touch elongated? Might be able to do some wizardry with motion blur PSF deconvolution, or morphological transformation in PixInsight if you're a convert

Thanks Lee. Yes my stars are always elongated. Hopefully they'll round up when I add more subs. I recall a little bit of wind during this one. :violin::whistle:

hahah fair enough.

Man, elongated stars are the bane of my existence at the moment, between those and poor seeing this run of clear skies isn't quite working out as good as I'd hoped...

Anyway, good work once again!

I don't think there is such thing as a perfect round star. It's like unicorns. In a fleeting moment maybe, but everytime? nah....

These are really nice Marc - you've got that CN 212 singing along just nice after the refurb.

Cheers

Shows great promise.

Even my uber-rig throws up the occasional egg (usually a snagged cable...I use a remote desktop to control everything from inside the house in the winter...too cold to be sitting in the dark in a shed :) )

Both images are superb already. Really well done.

The hourglass in particular has come up splendidly.

High five!

Thanks Dennis. Yeah it's a lot of fun using it now.

Thanks Peter. Snagged cable... I had the DEC cable jam itself between two USB connectors on the mount hub pro at the SPSP and disconnected the camera in due time. Never seen that one before.

Thanks Mike. If the seeing is decent I'll certainly clock a lot more hours and get something really detailed. Might even do a couple of panels for a highres mosaic.
