Had the best seeing ever last night and got some good video.
Firecapture used. 5000 frames @ 30fps and stacked best 600 in Registax, wavelets in IP and saturation bumped slightly in PS. High pass filter lead to noise.
I'm not sure if the detail on the moon is real...?

That's looking good Glenn, but you need more than 500 frames to sharpen and reduce the noise. With good seeing you can stack 70-80% of frames. Try Autostakker freeware - it's the best an easy to use and then Registax6 for best wavelets.
Yes your moon detail is real Ganymede is 1.7" at its biggest this year and has albedo detail seen in good seeing, other moon show some detail too.

Thanks John, I'll try that program. I used the "show stackgraph" and reduced the frames from about 750 downwards, thinking it eliminated the worst of the selected frames - maybe thats not so worthwhile.

Hi Glenn, nice capture! Very nice details came out. Is this with your 12 inch Meade? I also took Jupiter on 11 May and processing. I am trying to work out Winjupos first time attempting to collect more quality frames. So far it certainly reduces noise. Cheers, Hisanori
Yes its with the 12in Meade ACF.

Nice going Glen, you are on the right track.:D
John is right, just need to collect more data. Not sure what camera you have but I use 90sec on Jupiter @about 95fps (ASI290MC) and usually 10 sets and de-rotated in WinJupos. 12 meade.
