I have an NEQ6 Mount with a c9.25 , Being in my 70’s find it difficult to remove and replace when I want to use my 60 mm Lunt solar telescope. Recently I accidentally came across lunatic astronomical on the web and saw their DuoScope setups and decided to try to do it myself. So , with a gso vixen puck , a small celestron counter weight , some very large washers ,bolts and a fibre washer .I successfully attached the Lunt scope to the counter weight end of the mount. It seems to be very rigid and I’m yet to use the Lunt scope in this configuration. Thought I’d share my progress in this project. pictures attached.

Nice work :) How do you go with the Lunt and possible pier strikes?

Hi Jeremy,
I tried moving both attached scopes around the pier when balancing the two and saw no problem. Was surprised how solid the attachment of the Lunt scope felt

Interesting...
A while back I mounted a second finder scope to my C11 but I couldn't quite
get the balance right! and guiding was a pain. It was as if I needed to rotated the tube - like you can with newts and tube rings.

How do you find the balance in all directions with this setup?

Cheers

Hi Troy,
The Lunt only weighs around 3 kg and is quite short. Seemed to balance well with no problems in all orientations.
