I went to aris the edges of a bit of wood today but the planer seemed to have siezed up. I was ready to bin it when I saw this head pop out from the exhaust port by my hand - I suspect it's been jammed up by the motor or the blade mechanism.
Certainly a surprise where these blighters can get into. It's only a juvenile carpet but when they pop out at you it does take you back for a second.

Thats the first thing to look for if a power tool goes down☺.
And a free tip for any folk moving from the city to the sane life of country living...if yoir chain saw or genny or brush cutter in fact any tool with a petrol motor does not work...even before taking out the spark plug ordinarily the first step in the problem solving routine...is look to the exhaust as it is a favorite place for a wasp to deposit motor crippling mud...

You won't be surprised to know that just about every year, I go down that road - cranking the genny 'til I'm red in the face and having apoplexy before I remember to clear the blasted wasps. Now, I shove a bit of dowel in the exhaust with a bit of rag tied to it. If I'm stupid enough to miss my own signs, I deserve to have a dead genny.

I do the same as to only remembering after exhausted.
A little off track but I recall from mx racing days that the main reason a bike would stop at or near after the starting line was riders forgot to turn on the fuel...
I mentioned this elsewhere hete but one that catches me time and time again is I set up turn on sharpcap and dismay because there is no camera overlooking that I have yet to connect the usb☺.

If you put a snake in the exhaust will it keep out the wasps?
