M87 has been in the news a bit lately. I thought therefore I would post a slightly reprocessed version of an image of it I took a few years ago. The jet from the black hole is clearly visible. You also get a sense of the enormous number if globular clusters associated with this galaxy. Visually it's pretty boring although bright.

What? No black hole? Maaate..need to crank up the AO a tad more. :)

A fine M87 by any measure :thumbsup:

Thanks Ron. The secret to imaging the jet is short subs otherwise the centre gets burnt out.



Thanks Peter. I was quite pleased with it given that it doesn't get very high in my sky.
