Had a run of clear nights with some exceptional seeing. Unfortunately I've still been having what appears to be some optical issues... tends to be the sharper images that look worse :\ All the same, managed to get 7hrs on M83 that was still quite sharp with no apparent elongation.

Full version available on Astrobin (https://www.astrobin.com/399907).

Just for laughs I've attached another version of M83, this one captured by me about 5yrs ago. One of my first astro photos and I'm pretty sure my first galaxy image.

Nice M83 Lee. Detail right down to the core. Nice rich colours but not overdone.
Always fun to look at our early images. Guaranteed to raise a lot of laughs!
Who knows, maybe sometime in the future you’ll look at your current image and laugh about it.

That's a great rendition.

All of the tech stuff I tend to look for first (focus/resolution/tracking/colour) all really well handled.

Nice

:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks Geoff :-) I hope technology keeps advancing and one day we'll all look back at images like these and laugh. Who knows what's around the corner? Maybe pro-level adaptive optics and perfect sensors are just around the corner and we'll be able to effectively freeze seeing... one can hope!

Thanks Peter :-)

Superb! Everything about it is lovely, both technically and artistically.

Thanks Mike! :-) Unfortunately my clear skies have once again come to an end. Got a bit of data (4.5hrs of keepers) on M104 but could do with some more... knowing me I'll end up posting it anyway, but I think it needs another 4.5 or more.

Thanks very much :-)

I've reprocessed this and uploaded the new version to Astrobin, where today it received an Image Of The Day (IOTD), which is my second such. Nice to get the recognition :D

Fantastic image Lee and congrats on the IOTD

Am assuming you are no longer thinking of moving your kit on ..

Thanks David :-)

As for sellin' my kit, no, not right now :-) But give me another six months with nothing but hardware problems, poor weather and terrible seeing and I might change my mind again.
