Photo Challenge
04-04-2019, 11:37 PM
The Topic this month is : "Camp Site"

Reminder ...
* This thread is only for posting your entry, together with any comments/explanation/details you'd like to issue concerning your own photo.
* comments on other peoples' entries, or "other" shots of your own you'd like to share, can be posted in the Comments and Rejects Thread -> HERE (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?p=1423317#post142331 7).
* only one entry (that's just one image) per person (but you can change it out at any time if you get a better one)
* the image must be your own work and
* all other normal forum rules, and image size limits, apply.

The image doesn't necessarily have to be taken this month, but in the spirit of the challenge, we encourage you to get out and get into it.
In this regard, YES, the image may be one that you have submitted to a previous photo challenge, unless of course it has already been voted a winner.

The winner of the public vote, which will be run at the end of the month, will get to choose next month's topic and have their photo added to our "Photo Challenge Hall of Fame".

Good Luck!

I'll start the ball rolling with this one. It was shot back in December 2015 but it fits the theme. ;)

"Vicarious Camping"

We are most assuredly NOT a camping family, so my 2 daughters and I created a camp scene out of Lego...look closely, there is even a telescope and sci-fi theme too

1) A cask of Shiraz.
2) Fresh water.
3) A stranger letting his child do laps in the family car while his younger brother rides on the roof.

The morning after a -6.3°C radiation fog, and camping was never so warm and comfortable as in an insulated hammock.

Some people have to negotiate with the weather when camping at star parties.
Others have to negotiate with their telescope.

Been a while since I had some time to do more than just a little lurking on IIS.

This is an old shot... The morning after the third night on the road on our "Hole in the Sun Expedition" to observe the annular eclipse in the Northern Territory. Camped at the Blue Heeler Hotel at Kynuna in Western Queensland, ~24km from Combo Waterhole - the inspiration for Banjo Paterson's Waltzing Matilda.
