Happy y2k Ethiopia!!!
yup thats right, Ethiopia are now officially in the same century as us! :)
the fact is that well, its not cause they are a backwards bunch at all, they just use a different callendar to us. Ethiopia use the Ethiopian calandar (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethiopian_calendar) which is a variant on the julian.
so happy y2k everyone in ethiopia!!! :D

So... sit back and watch EVERYONE's computers crash now. The Y2K conspiracy theorists really DID mean this date the first time around...they just made a mistake before and gave us the wrong one :D

Ving You are full of IT!!!!!
what is "it" exactly david? :)
something nice i hope :P
thats right chris, the y2k theorists were just using the wrong calendar!!!
the julian calendar is a much older calendar then the gregorian so it makes sense that everything would crash according to the original ;)
Hey Ving, if there is ever a game of Trivial pursuit happening I'm going to make sure I'm on your team.

Fascinating piece of trivia Ving with that phone number, there certainly is a lot of history associated with it and a lot more being created.

In a similar vein, can anyone identify 634-5789 WITHOUT looking it up??

No, I looked it up, but will keep it secret :(
Hi Steve, it sound like the number of the train in the X-Files that was transporting the alien grey in about season 6 or 7
I haven't looked it up yet.

I like your answer a LOT Ric, but no that's not it. I might have to read up on the X-Files connection though.
Like I said it IS in a very similar vein to the first one in that it is a "phone number" again. I'm sure someone will recognise it at some point, but this one is a little harder to look up - I checked that before posting it.
