Hi all,
Managed to repair my Drive Board but the Actual AZ motor seems to be faulty (intermittent drive except at max speed) confirmed by swapping AZ/EL boards .
Anyone have an idea where I can source spare parts , being a 2009 Meade LT-6 is probably asking a lot though I'd bet thay are using the same motors today. It is a simple 12V DC motor but no markings at all.
Many thanks appreciate any assistance

Hi Cliff, I was able to get some meade spare parts from:
https://telescope-warehouse.com/
If they don't have what you are after, send Bill and email as he may have it, but just not on his website.
Hope this helps,
Andrew...

Thanks Andrew,
Nothing on the site but will email them, I am sure the motor is nothing too special but no markings or anything on it.
Cheers

Shape/appearance only may do.
Most of those products use cheap Chinese components.

Most certainly a cheaper type though quite heavy for its size and needs quite a low voltage to start. Only about 1Volt
I found one that might be ok Speed is listed as 3000RPM no idea what the Meade one is would think that it needs to be correct speed though.

Link doesn't work..
Speed is controlled by other means (closed loop with encoder), so I wouldn't worry about max specs for application in Meade telescope.
The most important is size - it has to replace the original motor.
Could you post some pictures of your (faulty) motor?

I've got it back in the mount , not sure if a pic in the mount will help.
The link I tried sending wasn't sure a live link was ok so made it a HTML

Well, $14 is not much to risk.
This one looks like something from old cassette player, or some car-toy.
Also this (https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1X-DC-12V-1-1-2A-15000RPM-High-Torque-Electric-Motor-for-DIY-car-Toys-O3D6/233034981556?_trkparms=aid%3D555018 %26algo%3DPL.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D2 0140106155344%26meid%3D660fed912855 426fb1cacc03e8d72ae4%26pid%3D100005 %26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D3%26sd%3D23285311 1432%26itm%3D233034981556&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851) looks similar...

Yep, this seems to be the same motor...
When experimenting, did you swap the motors only, or you kept encoder and gear on the shaft (a small green PCB under the gear.. because the fault may be there)?

I haven't actually removed the EL Ass, so no haven't tried swapping the encoder boards only the drive boards. the LED is lit not sure what else is on it not much by the looks and the wheel with dark/light stripes which I guess is for feedback of speed looks ok.

Exactly right..
Bisades LED, there is also phototransistor or diode.. very simple circuit.
It may be good to check (with CRO) if it does generate pulses..

Have to dust off the CRO , doesn't get much use now.
