Hey folks,

Just a heads up that I'll be presenting "Lets Talk: Astrophotography" as part of the World Science Festival in Brisbane on March 24th.

If you're interested, the details are ...

http://www.worldsciencefestival.com.au/program/events/lets-talk-astrophotography/

We had over 400 people in attendance at the Gladstone talk last weekend, which was an amazing turnout!

Be great to see some of you there! :)

Hi Dave

Do you mean Brisbane is in an incorrect logic state, as in a state logic control system, a programming method created for PLCs which makes use of state transition diagrams as a model of reality.;)

Hi Dave

I don't want to make this any worse for you folks south of the border, but we also have the most comprehensive and extensive touring space flight exhibition in the world at the Qld Museum in Brisbane, from 15 March to 9 October 2019.:)

NASA – A Human Adventure is a thrilling journey through humankind’s exploration of space. (https://space.qm.qld.gov.au/)

I hope the event attracts more interested folks to attend Andy's Astrophotography Talk.:)

Cheers

Dennis

Hey Andy,

Any chance your talk might come further North, say Cairns or Townsville perchance?

Cheers

Hi Carlton,

Love to - However the World Science Festival regional program doesn't include those cities this year. We did go to Gladstone last weekend, and there is talk of the Festival expanding further north next year....

Meanwhile, I'm happy to go North it if you can make it happen. :D

Thanks to all who attended my sellout Astro talk in Brisbane on the weekend. The World Science Festival sure packed the crowds in and the Museum was chock full of people!
If you were there and are reading this, please accept my sincere thanks for coming along, it was a lot of fun and the kids participating in the audience were amazing!
To top off the weekend I even got to have a beer with Dr. Karl afterwards, woohoo! :D

Everyone looks so bright and chipper for that 10:30am talk, I'm not a morning person . Looks like everyone was really enjoying themselves, what a great turn out, well done Andy. I was there Saturday afternoon.

As what Dennis said... The NASA display looks amazing, I'll have to dedicate a day for that one, but I got a nice teaser. If you poke your head in on the 1st level (it's across 2 levels), and look left, you'll see a life sized replica of the space shuttle's crew compartment. It's easy to see it if you're not paying to enter.

Across both levels the walls are covered in giant posters of astronauts on the Moon and a glass magazine frame so you can put yourself on a Moon landing magazine cover. Oh my gosh I had so much fun with my family having pics taken pretending we were on the Moon, it was an event in itself .

The exhibition is so huge that in order to get some of the larger bits in, they had to remove part of the wall and crane them in. It's timed to co-incide with the 50th anniversary of the Moon landing this year.
"Queensland Science Minister Leeanne Enoch said the exhibition was the first to be staged in the newly refurbished exhibition space in the museum.
A $3.25 million investment from the Palaszczuk government to see that expansion which means not only is this now the largest exhibition the museum has ever hosted, but it gives us the opportunity to host large events in the future,” Ms Enoch said."

Tickets are only around $20, purchase them at qm.qld.gov.au/space
Exhibition runs 15th March to 9th Ocober 2019.

My apologies Andy if I've hijacked your thread, but wow, this is worth letting as many people know as possible. I love your shirt by the way!
