Also my first crack at a specific Galaxy, 17x300sec frames - 10 darks. Acquired with Nebulosity & processed with Startools. Signs of fogging on the front window of the CCD due to extreme humidity are evident but here it is warts 'n' all. Comments/suggestions are always welcome & thanks for looking.
Cheers,
Tony

Lovely clean image, but where did all the colour go?

Great effort Tony
Looks nice
Tip - Startools can partially debloom your large stars using the
Magic module after your final noise reduction

Thanks Raymo, I tend to err on the cautious side with the colours & try to match a reference image so the object looks like it should, but I agree with you, it could stand a bit more saturation. I always appreciate your honest assessment Raymo:thumbsup:

Thanks Martin, I have to confess the diffraction spikes were added on in Startools & somehow I managed to bloat the stars at the same time:shrug:keep the Startools tips coming though, I'm putting them into practice & it's a huge help.
Cheers,
Tony

Nice. While I agree with the lack of colour, the h-alpha bits seem to be showing up. So it must all be there

Thank you all for the feedback. Here's a reworked version, a bit less noise & boosted colour, I'm happier with this version I think.
Cheers,
Tony

EDIT
Oops. This was the reworked version I meant to post

Still only a faint trace of blue. Many amateur images of M83 overdo the blue,
but yours underdoes it. Have a look at the Hubble version, distinctly blue,
not silver/grey. A touch of blue and it will be a ripper.

lol I prefer colour of first image. Yes it needs extra colour (not mere saturation) but most people overdo it which I think negates the overall realism . Good crisp pic overall, am jealous.
