ok so maybe not the best picture for quality...but it again shows what can be achieved with the most basic of equipment.

ZWO 224MC + adapter + IR/UV filter + Canon 70-200 F4 L

After some advice from kind folk on this forum,
i bought the lens adapter and am very happy.

at 200mm, 0.5 second exposures appear to not suffer from
rotation.

It's only about 1 minutes worth of exposures as well,
and i finally worked out how to drive DSS properly.

also crudely stuffed on a manky old tripod...

did i do good? ;-)

Very enterprising, love to see people thinking outside the box. Great idea, and with more subs I would imagine the image would show more colour and detail. Just think, your image would rival photographs taken on film 30 years ago or less from large telescopes sitting in observatories. We've come a long way, thanks for showing us a technique I've never seen on this forum before, well done! :thumbsup:

Lucky imaging! You could try astrotoaster (based on the DSS engine) and stack it live.

Good job. The camera may be basic, but the lens isn't. A new one costs
slightly more than all four of my lenses.

this is the cheapest L-series one can get....

It's non-IS ,and "only" f4
(the IS f2.8 versions can get up there for price)

I picked it up for a song mid-GFC from the states when they were
desperate to offload stuff....10 years later you can get them here
for not much more.

I love it - to me its a bit sharper than the f2.8, and half the weight.
As i use it mainly for sports events in bright sunlight, IS is irrelevant.

Hi again sharkbite. I noticed that it is f/4 and non IS. The cheapest I could
find for a new one is around $900, which is still more than the total for my four lenses, kit 18-55 and 55-250, Yongnuo 50mm, and Yongnuo 100mm.
However I get what you're saying, it certainly is a basic setup.
