Hi All,

Lets face it this is not an inexpensive hobby.

I was searching for information on the Lymax SCT coolers, and I came across Tony's (Strikers) thread about his stolen gear. Sorry to hear about that Tony I think I missed that one.

I was just wondering what people are doing to insure there gear, what is the best way to go about it. Is there a policy that covers accidental damage also?

Does anyone know much about the Micro-Dot technology and is it usable here for tagging equipment. What alternatives are there that will not harm the gear or its resale value.

I was also thinking perhaps it would be good for Astronomy magazines to offer a page to list stolen gear. Along with similar pages on the various online forums. A distribution list perhaps of the most popular sites to list stolen gear.

Regards
Fahim

I believe Tony got his money back on insurance, luckily. I think it served as a very good reminder to individually insure your equipment, if you haven't done so already.

I list mine individually, which covers it out of the house as well as at home. It's not cheap and does add to your premium, but it's piece of mind for sure.

Which reminds me, I need to update it now because I have a new scope and sold the old one.
