After some good advice from various IIS members I decided to restack and reprocess some existing data captured of the Rosette Nebula last month and hopefully improve the final image
46 x 3 minute subs
20 x darks
ISO 800
PHD2 guiding
Canon 600D ( sensor temperature around 36 deg C )
Ambient outside temperature during capture around 23 deg C
Restacked in DSS
Reprocessed in Startools
Cheers

Looks great Martin.
I can see the heat across the image, I had similar with what I imaged last night. Are you still going to do Eta tonight? It's clear and cool here tonight but work tomorrow has me inside lol

Thanks Raymo and Karl
Yes there was a lot of read noise and shot noise in this image , my DSLR was melting during that hot night
Startools did a good job though, cleaned it up as best as you could expect , still some horizontal banding and small background noise etc...
Need some cooler weather , DSLR’s take a hiding in this heat !!
I drove down here ( 3 hours south of Sydney ) at lunchtime with perfect blue sky all afternoon and a light northeast sea breeze ( as per weather report ) until the clouds rolled in from the west (Canberra) at around 6.00pm
My mount is already set up and cabled with a cover over it so it wasn’t much to install the OTA , image camera ,guide camera and laptop etc...
Still cloudy now ( 10.00pm ) so I’m going to pack up
Very disappointed, never trust weatherzone , they get it only 50 to 60% right
Next clear night ( I hope ) is Wednesday or Thursday night
Fingers crossed
Cheers
