Move over F-111 dump and burn there is a new kid in town with an impressive arsenal.

That herky bird flare drop doesn't come remotely close to equaling the F-111 dump and burn.
Skyshow organizers are trying anything they can think of, that the RAAF could do, that might, somehow, manage to come close to equaling the F-111 dump and burn.
Everything they have tried, so far, has fallen well short of the mark.
Maybe they should just get a couple of F-111 back in the air specifically for skyshows.

Aw, I dunno. it wasn't bad. Perhaps an AC-130 would be more impressive, but that wouldn't be... Australian :P

Sadly, due to the SALT, or START treaty (I forget), there's not likely to be any more flying in a hurry :(

Canberra ended up with a sole F/A18C doing a very droll, uninteresting "display" low over the Swamp (aka Lake Burley-Griffin). Not fast, not enthusiastic, not even remotely inspiring, with some exceedingly WTF half-a$$ed "Pugachev's" (more like a weak energy bleed) at the end of each "run" (jog more like it).

I recorded it, but embarrassed to put it on Youtube

The C-130 Herc is my favourite aircraft, and the Flare Dispense is certainly impressive, However........

In 1990, an F-111 being flown by an RAF exchange pilot, made this fly-by at the 50th Anniversary of the Story Bridge in Brisbane. (I wasn't there unfortunately).

The attached photo was taken by Mal Lancaster who was a Defence PR photographer. You can read about the photo on Mal's Blog at this link. This copy came from a RAAF 6 SQN friend.
