Have you tried processing in ImPPG?
It seems to be giving me better results than Registax....

So if my budget for solar is roughly at around US$1000-1500, is it better to buy a dedicated solar telescope or buy a Quark and use it with my current scope [ST80 or even Canon lenses if possible]?

Not for Canon lenses but most scopes >f5 the Quark is probably the best deal at the moment.

Great discs Mark.The Quark works well with smaller apertures but once you go up to say 127mm or 150mm the seeing really becomes the deciding factor.Back when the Sun was more active I think at my location the use of 150mm of aperture was only feasible on a couple of occasions.I have a Quark on a 150mm scope with an internal etalon but found myself stopping down to 100mm for a better result.

Thanks Derek I have 80 , 102 , 127 plus 0.5x reducer so that gets me good coverage :thumbsup:
