As it was our first ever attempt to capture a DSO, we only captured a handful of data (25x120sec exposures at iso800 with an old Canon 450d, complemented with only 6 matching dark frames so we could familiarise ourselves with how to process DSOs.

Image taken on 4 Jan 2019, 10km from Sydney CBD (AUS) during a new moon. Although, meteoblue rated the "seeing" as pretty poor that night.

We could have captured up-to 5min subs with how the tracking was going but it was getting pretty late. Lots to learn with respect to acquisition and processing techniques but not a bad way to syart.

Yesterday we purchased a ZWO asi 1600mm pro with their new narrowband and plan to pickup the filter wheel from bintel on Saturday. Exciting times lay ahead.

Equipment:

Autoguiding with 50mm orion guide scope and zwo asi290mc camera,

Imaged through a celestron c8 edgeHD with. 7x focal reducer on a skywatcher azeq6 mount,

Primary camera was an old Canon 450d with an astronomik cls filter to suppress the city lights.

Looks great Daniel, the filter didn't take too much colour away. I use a Canon 700D for all my work, it'll be interesting to see how you go with the 1600mm as I've heard they are good whether there's light pollution or moon glow.
Will be keeping an eye out for your next one.
